One of the most rewarding things that I have done over the past few years is to be affiliated with the Trust of the Americas and now the Trust of the Americas Canada. The Trust is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Organization of American States (OAS) that was established in 1997 to promote public and private partnerships across the region. In twenty short years, the Trust has implemented projects to improve access to economic opportunities, citizen security, and good governance, especially in vulnerable communities. From humble beginnings to now working in over in 24 countries, with over 500 local partner organizations. The staff, board, and all of the partners and participants can rightly be proud of their 20 th anniversary! The hearty endorsement of a young Jamaican who had used the resources offered to him by the Trust to change his life for the better was a reminder of the thousands of lives this organization has touched.
