WEF, Davos: A Summary of Risk and Responsibility in a Hyper connected world

While today’s “hyper connected world” clearly presents a high profile and risk subject for Governments, Business and Citizens, there is no going back. Used properly technology is a great enabler and equalizer that can enhance levels of development.

Perhaps inadvertently we have created an ecosystem which is going to require integrated multi-stakeholder dialogue and action to protect.

As such, the OAS would like to partner with the WEF, Member States, World Bank and the private sector to assist in designing and building a blue print for governance; thereby building on our experience with national strategies like that of Colombia and the 18 CSIRTS we have developed across the region.

Unlike some of the speakers, I believe that we have to go beyond national and sectoral capabilities. We must set the bar much higher by building on global awareness to develop forward-looking global standards.
